We founded DryMerge about a year ago, with the idea that we could use AI to automate API integrations for developers. In that year, our vision got a whole lot bigger — we realized that we wanted to automate repetitive work for anyone, not just API integrations for programmers.
This vision is big, hard to build, and a little against the grain of trendy vertical software. It’s tough to make this project a reality. But we’re happy to share a small initial step forward.
We’re excited to announce our $2.2M seed round, with participation from Y Combinator, Garage Capital, Goodwater Capital, Ritual Capital, Breakpoint Capital, angels such as Umur Cubukcu (Citus Data), JJ Fliegelman (WayUp), Kulveer Taggar (Zeus), Nate Matherson (Positional), and a handful of other amazing funds and people.
We’re using this funding to deliver the beauty of automation to everyone in the easiest, fastest way possible: plain English chat.
Automation is AMAZING, but no-code is too hard to use
Automating work makes people’s jobs 10x more enjoyable. Thousands of DryMerge users save hours every day automating CRM data entry, support requests, targeted outbound, web research, and so much more.
We think what our users are doing is amazing, and we spend nearly all of our time helping them save more time. But the bigger deal, to us, is who our users are.
The vast majority of DryMerge users aren’t programmers — in fact, most have never even used a no-code tool like Zapier or Make. Most DryMerge users are truly non-technical. They look like school administrators who’ve never touched a line of code, small business owners who sell physical goods and hate being attached to their computers, sales people who need an extra boost to meet quota, ministers who want to communicate with their congregations online, or asset managers who need to keep track of relationships. DryMerge is for everyone.
We think this is a big deal, because most existing no-code users are programmers. Just under 90%, according to Zapier.
Counterintuitively, almost all no-code users have coding experience.
We are making automation truly accessible to everyone, and our unique insight is that no-code builders with complicated data transformations and bespoke interfaces don’t work for everyone. We’re making the process of “automation” more like a conversation than a complicated head-scratcher. With DryMerge, users are literally going from “problem statement” to “solution” in seconds, and we want to keep delivering that magic to as many people as possible.
Tiny but mighty
The DryMerge team is Sam and myself (Edward). We went to elementary school together, started building stuff, and stayed in touch ever since. I left Yale and Sam left his job at Hive AI to build the company. We were part of YC’s W24 batch.
People are very surprised to find out it’s just us — we ship a lot, we are as helpful to our customers as we can be, and we are obsessed with this vision. We also have a ton of fun doing it.
Let’s automate together
